Virtual - Machine
-> A virtual machine (VM) is a software program or operating system that only exhibits the behaviour of a seperate computer, but it is also capable of performing tasks such as running applications and programs like a seperate computer.
-> A virtual machine, usually known as guest is created with another computing enviornment reffered as a "host". multiple virtual machines can exist with in a single host at one time.
Advantages of virtual machine:-
1. Allows multiple operating system enviornments on a single physical computer without any intervention.
2. Virtual machines are widely available and are easy to manage and maintain.
3. Offers application provisioning and disaster recovery options.
Drawbacks Of virtual machines:-
1. They are not as efficient as a physical computer because the hardware resources are distributed in an indirect way.
2. Multiple VM's running on a single physical machine can deliever unstable performance.
