-> These type of OS's servers the real time systems, The time intervel required to process and respond to inputs is very small. this time intervel is called, Response time.
-> Real time systems are used when there are time requirements are very strict like missile systems, air traffic control systems.
-> EX: Scientific experiments, medical image system, weapon systems, robots, air traffic control systems etc.
Handheld Systems
Handheld system include personal digits assistant (PDAS) such as palm-pilots or celular telephones with connectivity to a network such as the internet.
